Under a bill that passed on a
58-4 vote through the Sacramento
State Assembly in California on
Monday, pharmacists will have
the discretion to substitute
medications that are biologically
similar to brand-name treatments.
According to Associated Press,
the substitution can be made if the
biosimilar has been approved by
the US Food & Drug Administration.
The pharmacist must also
notify the doctor who initiated
the prescription and say which
