THE Pharmacy Board of Australia yesterday issued a communique in relation to its last meeting on 21 Jul, including an update on advertising to consumers.
The AHPRA website features guidelines "to help pharmacists check and correct their advertising so they comply with legal requirements," including examples of non-compliant advertising and information on AHPRA processes for managing advertising complaints.
"Pharmacists are responsible for their advertising and must be able to substantiate any claims made that their services benefit patients...if in doubt about a claim pharmacists should leave it out of their advertising," the Board said.
