NEW research out of China involving 51,145 participants has debunked the value of calcium, vitamin D, or combined calcium and vitamin D supplementation to help manage osteoporotic fracture incidence in community-dwelling older adults.
The meta-analysis of 33 randomised clinical trials showed that the use of these supplements was not associated a significant difference in the risk of hip fractures compared with placebo or no treatment.
