inherited genetic disease known
as hereditary tyrosinaemia type
1 (HT-1) can now receive Orfadin
(nitisinone from Menarini) under
the Life Saving Drugs Program.
With an incidence of only one or
two babies each year diagnosed
with the multiple organ failure
disease, the drug offers new hope
of infants living well past the
normal five year standard.
The special funding has been in
