THE Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has opened a public consultation looking into improvements to the regulation of sunscreens in Australia, and is inviting stakeholders to provide a response by 23 May 2026.
Up for consideration are improved reliability of SPF testing, faster adoption of new test methods, stronger oversight of test labs, enhanced quality assurance and greater consistency in claims - click HERE for details.
The regulator will also host a webinar on 14 Apr 2026 at 1pm AEST to provide stakeholders with an overview of the key proposals in the consultation paper, with an opportunity to ask questions of the TGA's expert panel - register HERE.
