AUSTRALIANS are being advised not to consume food or drink for up to 30 minutes before collecting saliva for a home-use COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT).
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) issued the recommendation this morning that eating, drinking, smoking, brushing your teeth or chewing gum, prior to taking a sample, could impact the accuracy of the tests.
