OLDER Australians and Baby
Boomers have less sun damaged
skin than younger generations,
according to results from SunSense’s
SunSensibility health project.
The project took into account
results from SunSense’s photobus
roadshow which travelled to 19
metro, coastal and regional
locations across NSW, Qld and Vic
checking the UV damage of
volunteers.
The results were interesting
particularly in relation to the
intense sun-safety education efforts
over the past 30 years.
“It shows we’ve still got a long
way to go,” said SunSense.
Other interesting results showed
that metro dwellers are the most
sun savvy Aussies, scoring the
highest SunSensibility rating of
54%, followed by coastal regions at
53% and country towns at 46%.The above article was sent to subscribers in Pharmacy Daily's issue from 01 Dec 11 To see the full newsletter, see the embedded issue below or CLICK HERE to download Pharmacy Daily from 01 Dec 11
