THREE hundred UK men are taking part in a trial evaluating the potential of a new DNA test looking for high risk genes for prostate cancer, believed to affect one in 100 men.
The test takes a saliva sample and could form the basis of a nation-wide screening program, Institute of Cancer Research scientists hope.
The foundation DNA research investigated more than 140,000 men and identified 63 new genetic variations that can increase the risk of prostate cancer.
See nature.com for the DNA work.
