A NSW pharmacist who was
last year convicted of criminal
offences in relation to possession
and supply of prohibited drugs has
been formally found to be “not a
suitable person to hold registration
as a pharmacist” by the Pharmacy
Tribunal of NSW.
Daniel Cahill, who was the
proprietor of the Guardian
Pharmacy at Nelson Bay, allegedly
became addicted to opiates after a
spinal injury in 1995.
The tribunal reprimanded him for
his conduct contrary to the legal
and ethical obligations governing
the professional practice of a
registered pharmacist, and said that
if he were still registered he would
have had his registration cancelled.
Cahill has accordingly been
disqualified from being registered
as a pharmacist for a period of two
years from 27 May 2013.The above article was sent to subscribers in Pharmacy Daily's issue from 05 Jun 13 To see the full newsletter, see the embedded issue below or CLICK HERE to download Pharmacy Daily from 05 Jun 13
