NPS MedicineWise has today
published the latest edition of
Australian Prescriber, including an
article on the clinical applications
and challenges of introducing
medicinal cannabis into Australia.
Written by the University of
Sydney’s Dr Bridin Murnion, the
article describes the therapeutic
use of cannabinoids, as well as
the ongoing debate and evolving
legislative landscape.
“If medicinal cannabis is to be
introduced it should be supported
with prescriber and consumer
education, prescriber peer review,
a robust authority process and
pharmacovigilance for adverse
events,” Murnion said.
