HEALTH minister Sussan Ley has
signalled “significant structural
reform” for Australia’s mental
health system, based on an
implementation plan proposed
following a review which found
existing programs and services to
be “fragmented and disjointed”.
She said it was clear that “we
needed to re-think our approach
to mental health, and change
the focus from a service-centred
approach to one where services are
organised around the needs of the
person”.
Ley said she expected to
announce the outcome before the
