Pharmacy and exercise
physiology students have been
sharing a classroom in a trial
interprofessional learning program
at the University of Sydney
intended to mimic real-life cases of
Australians struggling with heart
disease, diabetes and obesity.
With a broad range of health
disciplines in the university, the
opportunity to cross-pollinate
between professions is made
possible, said Professor Pip
Pattison, Education Deputy Vice-
Chancellor.
Over three days students from
nursing, medicine, pharmacy,
occupational therapy, speech
pathology, physiotherapy,
diagnostic radiography and
exercise physiology took part
in team building activities and
competed in teams of six to devise
a management plan for a patient
with complex health needs.
