IMMUNISATION of healthcare professionals (HCPs) is critically important to preventing disease according to the findings of the Nov 2017 National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) HCP Immunisation Summit.
The congress called upon professional healthcare associations and medical experts on the front lines of infection prevention, infection control, and occupational health to "take responsibility as stewards of both employee and patient safety to implement the recommendations outlined in the Call to Action".
"The responsibility to protect our healthcare workforce and prevent the transmission of vaccine-preventable disease to patients and communities must be shared by all," the conference summarised.
