Aspen Pharmacare has this month released the new Gastro-Stop
Plus, which combines loperamide hydrochloride with simethicone
and is claimed to be the only product on the market designed to treat
acute diarrhoea as well as relieving abdominal discomfort caused by
gas-related symptoms. Loperamide hydrochloride provides relief from
diarrhoea by slowing down the movement of the intestines, providing
more time for reabsorption of fluid and electrolytes, while simethicone
lowers the surface tension of gas bubbles. Gastro-Stop Plus comes in a
packet of 12 chewable mint-flavoured tablets.
Stockists: Wholesalers
RRP: $12.95
