FDA product alerts
January 23, 2014
The US FDA has warned against
Magic Slim, Dream Body Slimming
Capsule, sold for weight loss, or the
dietary supplement Pro ArthMax.
The former both contain
sibutramine, known to increase
blood pressure and/or pulse rate in
some patients.
Pro ArthMax contained
diclofenac, ibuprofen, naproxen and
indomethacin, which are NSAIDs
associated with an increased risk of
cardiovascular events, the FDA said.
This follows the UK’s MHRA
similar alert (PD 08 Nov 13).
