Administration is inviting input
about menthol in cigarettes, as part
of its mandate to regulate tobacco.
The FDA says it’s seeking
additional information related
to potential regulatory options it
might consider, such as establishing
tobacco product standards.
The agency says it also plans
to support new research on the
differences between menthol and
nonmenthol cigarettes in relation to
menthol’s likely impact on smoking
cessation and quit attempts, as well
as assessing the levels of menthol
