Expressing concern

A survey by Philips AVENT, has shown that 61% of Australian mothers who have expressed milk after returning to work in order to continue breast feeding their child, were made to feel uncomfortable or embarrassed over expressing their milk in the workplace. Only 29% of new mothers who participated in the survey had access to a comfortable and private space at work and 33% did not feel comfortable talking about expressing at work with their employer. These figures highlight why mothers are more likely to stop breast feeding when they return to work, the company said.
