NOBODY knows what goes on in another person's mind, but Irish pharmacists are wondering what inspired one of their peers to stock up on Easter eggs.
Maybe they were trying an innovative way to boost condom and home pregnancy test sales by promoting discount chocolate as an aphrodisiac - who knows?
However, the decision to barricade the dispensary with cheap Easter eggs hit a very flat note with pharmacist, Shane O'Sullivan, who tweeted a photo of the store saying "behind the wall of chocolate there's someone who trained for five years to be a healthcare professional".
The snap (below) showed that some pharmacists are their own worst enemy when it comes to securing an expanded scope of practice for the profession.
With their stock of Easter Eggs, a Coca-Cola branded fridge and Thomas the Tank Engine balloons forming a barrier between patients and any pharmacist brave enough to emerge from the dispensary, angry pharmacists warned the display would damage the profession's credibility.
Responding to the photo Ronan Quirke said, "This is a new low. Good people are lobbying hard for an extended role. This puts us back years".
