WHEN urgent delivery of lifesaving organs for transplantation is required, there's no faster way to do it than in a Lamborghini.
At least that's the story behind a recent mercy dash by Italian police on the country's motorways, using a specially adapted 300km/h supercar.
The $400,000 vehicle was a gift to law enforcement from the manufacturer, with a social media post (pictured) showing the compartment used to hold organs in the front of the car.
"Thanks to the State Police's special Father Christmas, two people have received the gift of a kidney," a Facebook post read.
The organs were driven at high speed from Padua to hospitals in Modena and then Rome.
