HOT whiskeys with lemon and cloves are a standard winter warmer for many battling colds during the winter months.
But it appears that Pope Francis has another alcohol-based home-remedy to tackle aches and pains.
Asked by a group of Mexican seminarians about how he was coping with knee issues that have flared up in recent weeks, the Pontiff suggested that his physiotherapy was missing a critical component.
"Do you know what I need for my knee," Pope Francis asked.
"A little tequila".
The aspiring priests told the leader of the Catholic Church that they would bring a bottle of the miracle cure, when they visit Pope Francis' home at the Santa Marta house in the Vatican.
While memories of tequila-induced hangovers may leave some readers feeling nauseous at the thought of drinking the beverage, the raw ingredients of the potent drink have been used for centuries to ease inflammation.
