How about this for an ingenious
marketing ploy?
A restaurant in Moscow is taking
a unique approach to attracting
new customers (and possibly
increasing the chances of good
table service) by only hiring sets
of identical twins to serve diners.
Alexei Khodorovsky, owner
of The Twin Stars Diner, said
he was looking for an edge in
the highly competitive dining
scene in Moscow, and came up
with the idea after watching a
1960s Russian movie Kingdom
of Crooked Mirrors in which a
schoolgirl crosses into a parallel
universe and finds her twin.
However he said he had found
it somewhat of a challenge to
find enough twins with food and
beverage experience.
Amazingly, the concept is not
unique, with the Twins eatery
in New York, owned by identical
twins Lisa and Debbie Ganz, also
employing the same concept.
Twins who eat there get two-for-one
deals on the drinks.
