About 1.7 million Australians over the age of 25 are likely to be unaware they have chronic kidney disease (CKD). The Pharmacy Guild and Kidney Health Australia, the national peak charity responsible for awareness-raising on early detection, prevention and management of CKD, are determined to do something tangible to expose the health of your community’s kidneys. Early detection can save lives and reduce the need for dialysis and organ transplants. Over the next three years Kidney Health Australia intends to encourage as many Australians as possible to ‘take the test’ and promote ‘some decent exposure’ on this subject. Help this worthy initiative by taking a Red Undies Week counter display for the Red Undies Week program to run 27 May to 2 June. Each counter display contains 25 test kits. The test kit contains a cut-out pair of red paper undies that display the risk factors of kidney disease, encouraging the customer to log onto www.checkmykidneys.com.au to take the kidney health check and a cheeky transfer tattoo that will aid in word-of-mouth marketing. Don’t worry – you and your employees will get a few transfers too to stick on and have a bit of fun.
