BRITAIN'S Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has carried out raids in Bournemouth following an in-depth investigation into a network suspected to be involved in the illegal importation and supply of medicines.
A man and a woman have been arrested, while substantial amounts of unlicensed medicines were seized including HIV drugs, erectile dysfunction pills and narcolepsy medication such as modafinil.
Coordinated searches were conducted at four locations, with the suspects arrested on the suspicion of money laundering.
MHRA spokesman Tariq Sarwar said "those selling medicines illegally are exploiting innocent people to make money, and have no regard for the public's health or welfare".
