THE Heart Foundation has
released figures which estimate
over 440,000 Australians aged
between 30 and 65 have high blood
pressure but don’t know it.
The data coincided with World
Health Day yesterday which marks
the anniversary of the World Health
Organization in 1948.
High blood pressure has been
selected as a key worldwide health
priority for 2013, after being
identified as the world’s leading
health risk in The Lancet last Dec.
The Heart Foundation suggested
a range of preventive measures
including “halt the salt,” getting
active, watching alcohol intake,
up your potassium and taking
medication as prescribed. The above article was sent to subscribers in Pharmacy Daily's issue from 08 Apr 13 To see the full newsletter, see the embedded issue below or CLICK HERE to download Pharmacy Daily from 08 Apr 13
