THE Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has released its recommendations for the use of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine for children aged six to 11 years.
The guidance follows the Therapeutic Goods Administration's (TGA's) decision to grant provisional approval for the vaccine to be administered to children on a two-dose schedule of 50g per shot, administered eight weeks apart.
ATAGI noted that there is not paediatric-specific formulation for the Moderna vaccine, adding "there is a risk of dosing, including over-dosing, errors with the Moderna vaccine for children".
