DANGEROUS and prohibited ingredients were found in two-thirds of nicotine vaping products seized from three Canberra-based businesses in Oct, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) revealed.
The operation targeting prohibited sales of nicotine vaping products, conducted by the TGA and ACT Health, confiscated "a large number" of devices, with two out of every three not labelled as containing nicotine.
Tests on the devices found two-thirds contained one or more of eight ingredients that have been prohibited by law in nicotine vaping products, as they pose known health risks when inhaled.
The TGA noted that further information on the businesses involved cannot be made public at this stage.
