NEW research published in the International Journal for Quality in Health Care found "substantial variation" in polypharmacy, hyper-polypharmacy and antipsychotic medicine use across 71 residential aged care (RAC) facilities in NSW and the ACT.
The study used routinely collected electronic medicines administration relating to 4,775 permanent residents living in participating facilities on 01 Oct 2015.
