AN ARTIFICIAL genetic 'circuit' that can be switched on with caffeine can help regulate blood glucose (BG) levels in diabetic mice models, according to international researchers, published in Nature Communications.
Although only a proof-of-principle demonstration, this work shows how synthetic biology may one day be used in healthcare with minimal invasive disruptions to lifestyle.
