THE US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a first-of-its-kind report claiming to have saved the US taxpayer $8.8 billion during the 2017 calendar year as a result of its generic drug approvals and a further $11.8 billion through Feb 2108.
In 2017 the FDA approved 1,027 abbreviated new drug applications.
