EGO Pharmaceuticals has blasted
claims made by consumer group
CHOICE that one of the company’s
SunSense products didn’t meet its
SPF claims.
Last weekend CHOICE published
an article detailing testing of a small
sample of sunscreens from various
brands including SunSense.
Following the story, Ego
undertook independent retesting
of the same batch and found that
its SunSense Sport SPF50+ returned
results with an SPF greater than 60.
Ego Scientific Affairs Manager,
Kerry Grieve, said the retesting was
undertaken at an FDA accredited
laboratory and also included static
and post immersion results which
also supported Ego’s four hours
water resistance claim.
Grieve said the results from the
highly specialised form of clinical
testing “unequivocally counteracts
these recent claims”.
“We stand by our SPF claims...
customers can be assured that the
quality of Ego’s products is not in
any way compromised,” she said. The above article was sent to subscribers in Pharmacy Daily's issue from 17 Dec 15 To see the full newsletter, see the embedded issue below or CLICK HERE to download Pharmacy Daily from 17 Dec 15
