MATERNAL death rates in
Australia remain low but some
groups are at greater risk, a new
report from the Australian Institute
of Health and Welfare has found.
There were 99 maternal deaths
in Australia from 2006-2010 but
Indigenous women were about
three times as likely to die as non-
Indigenous women, it found.
