high output stomas (HOS).
Stomas are artificial openings in
the abdominal wall created after
small bowel surgery involving
partial or full removal of the small
intestine and high output stomas
arise consequent to the surgery.
Pharmacotherapies used to
control HOS include anti-motility,
anti-secretory and other agents
such as opioids.
