The Australian Self Medication
Industry (ASMI) has released its
2012-13 Annual Report.
ASMI President Mark Sargent
said that a major investment of
effort for the organisation this year
has been to intensify lobbying in
Canberra on the issue of the nonprescription
medications industry
as an integral part of Australia’s
sustainable healthcare system and
working towards the establishment
of an Australian Self Care Alliance.
In addition he highlighted the
appointment of CM strategy
manager Brenda Davy and in-house
PR manager Michelle Sollitt-Davis,
working closely with the TGA
Labelling and Packaging Review,
improving patient communications
around S3 products, and an
extensive review of the process of
evaluation of OTC medications in
Australia and NZ.
