enriched foods.
43% of GPs surveyed said they
were ‘unsure’ if the scientific
evidence supporting the use of
plant sterols was adequate for
them to recommend the use of
such products to patients, although
80% believed dietary changes were
effective in lowering cholesterol.
For people with high blood
cholesterol the Heart Foundation
recommends eating 2-3 grams of
