THE US FDA has approved
Brisdelle (paroxetine) to treat
moderate-to-severe vasomotor
symptoms (hot flashes) associated
with menopause.
It’s the first non-hormonal
drug approved in the US for this
indication, and because it contains
the same active ingredient as
medicines for depression its label
will have a warning about suicidal
