Symbion honours suppliers

A GLITTERING awards ceremony last night saw Symbion recognise a range of industry suppliers, with the inaugural Symbion Engage Awards taking place in Melbourne. About 150 people attended the event which included awards in 11 categories. “We’ve developed these awards to inspire our suppliers to foster relationships that go beyond the traditional supply and demand,” said Symbion general manager Pharmacy, Brett Barons. AstraZeneca was named the winner of the prestigious Supplier of the Year award, and also won the Achieving Excellence Award, Ethical, Large Supplier category. Other winners included Bayer Australia in the Outstanding New Product Introduction OTC category, for its Canesten Fungal Nail Set. Boehringer Ingelheim won Outstanding Promotion of an Existing Product for the Bisolvon Mucus Monster, while Key Pharmaceuticals took out the Achieving Excellence Award OTC, Small to Medium Supplier. The Chemmart Pharmacy Supplier of the Year was Apotex, which also won the Achieving Excellence Award, Generics; while Pharmacy Choice Supplier of the year was Reckitt Benckiser. Other winners on the night included Allergan for Achieving Excellence, Ethical; and Johnson and Johnson won the Achieving Excellence OTC Large Supplier award. And the Outstanding Commitment to e-Commerce category was awarded to Novartis.
