FRENCH firm Echosens has
announced the US Food and Drug
Administration’s approval of its
FibroScan system for non-invasive
liver diagnosis.
More than 1800 FibroScan devices
are used worldwide already, with
the USA the last major market to
approve the system.
It uses a technology called
transient elastography to assess
liver shear wave speed and stiffness
in a painless, simple procedure.
It was initially introduced into the
