a major global review of substance
use in young people, published
last week in the journal Lancet
Psychiatry.
In Australia, alcohol made up
the largest burden among young
people, with males being most
affected, the study showed.
Illicit drug use in Australia
accounted for more health harms
among young people than in any
other region of the world.
The National Drug and Alcohol
Research Centre (NDARC)
has highlighted the study to
draw attention to the plight of
adolescents and their future risks in
