GREEN tea greatly reduces
plasma concentrations of the
beta-blocker nadolol new research
from Japan, Italy and Germany has
shown.
“The effects of nadolol on systolic
blood pressure were significantly
reduced by green tea,” said
the authors explaining that the
mechanism is “possibly in part by
inhibition of OATP1A2-mediated
uptake of nadolol in the intestine.”
The interaction was great enough
to interfere significantly with
nadolol’s ability to reduce blood
