A LARGE scale study has been
conducted on the use of ‘Tall
Man’ lettering, to determine if the
widely-adopted practice really can
reduce ‘wrong-drug errors’.
The study covered 1.6 million
orders from 42 hospitals over nine
years (2004-2012), and found that
“there was very little evidence”
for or against Tall Man lettering
when it was first introduced in
2007, referencing that there were
only four peer-reviewed published
experiments, none of which whom
