Sonic Healthcare withdraws services which underpinned the new Amcal service.
Sigma Healthcare has just confirmed that Sonic Healthcare will no longer provide pathology services to Amcal pharmacies, with Sigma set to “investigate alternative providers…to support the continuation of the program”.
Sigma corporate affairs manager Gary Woodford said the decision by Sonic was disappointing, particularly given how hard both parties had worked to develop the program.
Sonic said it had decided to no longer be a pathology provider for the Amcal screening program “following feedback from the GP community”.
