NZ pharmacies satisfy

A NIELSEN survey of pharmacies
across New Zealand has found that
95% of patients rated the service
they received between seven and
10 out of 10.
A total of 132 pharmacies from
around the country participated
in the survey, with 6,620 patient
surveys completed, the Pharmacy
Guild of New Zealand (PGNZ) said.
The survey was used to decide the
winner of the NZ 2014 Community
Pharmacy of the Year award.
About 30% of respondents visited
their pharmacy between five and
10 times in the last 12 months and
56% visited more than 10 times,
PGNZ ceo Lee Hohaia said.
About 80% of responses strongly
agreed (with a score of nine or 10
out of 10) that their pharmacist
was knowledgeable about different
types of medicine, 79% strongly
agreed it was easy to ask questions
about their medicine and 75%
strongly agreed that the pharmacist
helped them to understand how
and when to take their medicine.
More than 80% of respondents
said they would be extremely likely
to recommend the pharmacy to a
family member or friend.
Around half said they thought
the government should fund
services such as assessing risk of
heart attack or stroke, diabetes
management, and healthy eating &
lifestyle advice.
