Pharmacy Daily | Missed service opportunity

THE Pharmacy Guild has released figures which show that on average pharmacies are missing out on up to $25,000 in income from professional services every year. The data was collated from pharmacies which had undertaken the Opportunity Analysis under the Guild’s Health Advice Plus program which aims to support pharmacies developing professional services. 100% of participating pharmacies were under-utilising their full opportunity in compliance and new-to-therapy programs, while 90% of pharmacies were found to have opportunities to increase their prescription reminder services such as MedAdvisor, Healthnotes and MemoCare. The Opportunity Analysis also found most pharmacies have a unique professional service that remains dormant within their business, with the most common category being weight management. The Health Advice Plus program offers three tiers of support - Bronze, Silver and Gold - depending on the budget and needs of individual pharmacies. There are currently ten modules linked to the program.
