SAGENT Pharmaceuticals in the
US has initiated a nationwide
voluntary recall of all lots of its
metronidazole injection, which is an
intravenous antimicrobial product
supplied in a single dose container.
The company said it’s discovered
“non-sterility” in two batches of the
product, which it said has the
potential to lead to fatal infections,
especially in patients who are
