THE Therapeutic Goods
Administration has advised of
further limited availability from
some supplies of metformin
extended release tablets, which
have been the subject of shortages
in recent months.
According to a TGA update
yesterday there is now limited
availability of Diabex, Chemmart
and Terry White Chemists XR 500
metformin hydrochloride 500mg
extended release tablet blister
packs, in addition to a previous
bulletin which advised of low
availability of products from
Alphapharm, Apotex and Arrow.
The TGA said some suppliers have
limited or no stock, resulting in
unexpected increased demand on
other suppliers that cannot be fully
met at this time. The above article was sent to subscribers in Pharmacy Daily's issue from 11 Aug 16 To see the full newsletter, see the embedded issue below or CLICK HERE to download Pharmacy Daily from 11 Aug 16
