PHARMACISTS are being invited to be part of the upcoming Haemochromatosis Awareness Week, taking place 08-14 Aug. Haemochromatosis is the most common genetic disorder in Australia, with about 2.5% of people of northern European origin having the genetic risk of the condition which sees them absorb too much iron from their diet. The ailment tends to be under diagnosed - for more details see haemochromatosis.org.au.
