THE foundation established by US software billionaire Bill Gates and his wife Melinda has awarded 1.3 million to British medicines regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
It's part of 'Project Smart Safety Surveillance' launched by the World Health Organization and the Gates Foundation to help low and middle-income countries improve the safety monitoring of medicines.
MHRA's involvement will include oversight to ensure scientific and regulatory expertise are developed within national safety monitoring centres in each country.
