EPIC Pharmacy has been appointed as Healthscope's pharmacy service partner for the listed company's Northern Beaches hospital development in Frenchs Forest, New South Wales.
This new hospital will be operated by Healthscope under a Public Private Partnership arrangement with the NSW Government, commencing operations on 30 Oct 2018 with 488 beds.
The facility will deliver care to both public and private patients, significantly expanding the services currently available in the region.
The relationship between Epic and Healthscope includes a full pharmacy service from dispensing to clinical services, imprest, retail and chemotherapy compounding, delivering across the entire hospital for both public and private patients.
Epic Pharmacy ceo Andrew Reid said the facility will include a state-of-the-art pharmacy service including robotic dispensing.
The hospital is currently under construction and when operational next year, the existing state-run Manly and Mona Vale public hospitals will transfer acute services to the new facility.
