Epic innovation awarded

EPIC Pharmacy
has been named
as one of
Australia’s top 50
Most Innovative
Companies, with
the Australian
Financial Review
citing Epic’s
development of
digital health tools
for the award.
Epic’s Medication
Manager has been created from the
ground up to be a secure electronic
platform allowing patients and
healthcare professionals real time
access to pharmacy information,
including medication profiles.
ChartFlow was developed to
allow pharmacy and nursing
staff to capture an image of a
patient’s medication chart via
a tablet device, where they can
then annotate instructions, flag
urgencies and send directly to the
pharmacy for dispensing.
This transforms hospital pharmacy
workflow, reducing turnaround
times and also improves safety by
eliminating transcription errors.
Epic Pharmacy co-owner Cathie
Reid said the recognition in the
awards “highlights how companies
are bridging the gap between a
paper-based industry and a digital
future.
