IRRESPONSIBLE pet owners have been arrested after a Texas policeman found a dog suffering from a heroin overdose on the floorboard of its owner's truck parked at a hardware store.
The cop took to Facebook to share a picture of the "tough pup" who was taken to North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic and put on a drip to help it recover from the dose of opiates.
The owners were also arrested on several drugs charges.
The dog is now ready to be placed in a new home by the City of Carrollton Animal Adoption Centre in Dallas.
